On October 17th 2022, the Grief to Grace team collaborated with Baroness Sheila Hollins (one of the founding members of the Pontifical Commission for the Protection of Minors) in a very moving evening organised by the Parish of Our Lady of Sorrows, Effingham, Surrey.

This was a parish initiative designed to give people the opportunity to hear about the abuse crisis in the Church and what’s being done about it, but principally to provide a safe space in which to share their own thoughts and reactions to it. It represented a real desire to change the culture at a grass roots level and embrace Safeguarding which includes concrete measures for hearing and healing survivors.
